It’s the remix baby! So, today I wanted to talk about remixes and the lack of creativity in this new wave of music. Back in the day, when an artist released a remix, it was for the most part a completely different song. We got new lyrics, new musical arrangements and new videos. We could actually have discussions and debates about which song was better; the original or the remix. Now, not so much. Now, we get a song and then they call it a remix, but the only thing they have added is either 1 or 2 more people and their verses, but nothing else is different. I feel that if I can’t tell it’s the remix within the first 10 to 15 seconds of the song starting, then darling a remix it is not. I hate to be that person, you know the “they just don’t make music like they use to” person, but alas here I am. This generation is just not giving it where the remixes are concerned.
