Sex And The City Talk Tuesday Tis The Season

Talk Tuesday

Tis the Holiday Season my fine folks and happy December! I’ve got all my Christmas decorations up and am already in the festive Christmas spirit. However, this post is not so jolly jolly. I wanted to talk about being single for the Holidays. Y’all, I have been single for more holidays then I can count. It’s the God honest truth and well frankly I am sick of it. One of my favorite holiday scenes in a movie is a scene in the Sex and The City movie where Miranda is alone for NYE and she calls up Carrie to say how sad she is that she is alone. Carrie rushes to Miranda and gets there right before midnight to remind her friend that no she isn’t alone. I love it, and it’s true, with friends and family you are never alone, but I would be lying if I said that that makes up for the different kind of loneliness that comes with decorating your Christmas tree alone, watching Christmas movies alone, attending parties without a plus 1 or worse of all bringing in another New Year without someone to kiss once the clock strikes midnight. As my good sis Charlotte said in one of the SATC episodes “I’ve been dating since I was 15. I’m exhausted. Where is he?” It’s a line that always makes me laugh, because good lord is it true, but like Charlotte I will remain my hopeless romantic self and hope that I won’t have too many more holidays as a single gal. To all my single ladies, let’s talk. How do you feel about being single during the holidays? Does it bother you or are you just fine? Do you have traditions you do on your own to help you feel not so lonely? From Jaime With Love.
