Yesterday I posted my #MusicMonday which was “Happy Face” by Destiny’s Child! The lyrics are “I woke up this morning, the sunshine was shining I put on my happy face. I’m living, I’m able, I’m breathing, I’m grateful” Sometimes the simplest lyrics really put things into perspective. Side note; I am obsessed with music and so a lot of things I post will probably involve music in some sort of fashion; End note. As I was saying; lyrics can put things into perspective. How many times a week, a day, an hour do we find ourselves complaining about SOMETHING? Granted, small complaints are not really the issue. Things like “It’s HOT out here” when you live in the South and it’s 100 degrees are understandable, but what about those constant negative complaints? You know the “woe is me” “my life is over” complaints? How often do we have those? How often do we allow those negative thoughts to overwhelm us? Probably way too often. While I know it maybe easier said than done, take a moment when you’re in the process of “woe is me” and really think about all that you currently have. Not necessarily possessions or material things, but things like your health, family and to put it simply life. I lost someone recently, an aunt who was as fabulous as her name and beyond a loving spirit, and when moments like that come along I feel like it humbles you or should humble you and allow you to put things into perspective. We are not robots, and we will all have our moments and everyday will not be all sunshine and lollipops, but I hope that we can all realize how blessed we are and make those “Woe is me” moments much more fewer and far between.
