Whew! I completely fell off with my reading. It seemed like things got so chaotic all of a sudden at work and in life I just couldn’t find time to make room for one of my favorite things to do. Anyway, I fixed all of that by reminding myself to make time, by going back to carving out time to read. So with that being said, I finally finished “Becoming” by my forever First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama. It was such an insightful and inspirational book. I appreciated that she revealed the struggles she had being First Lady. I mean from the outside looking in, you could assume it was no walk in the park for her just by following the relentless harsh criticism she received over and over, but it was interesting to learn about the adjustments and sacrifices she had to personally make. The lack of “freedom” and the burden she felt because of the disruption she made just for wanting to sit outside on a balcony. The fact that she pretty much had to give up her own career in order to support Barack in his presidential campaign. It was inspirational not so much just because of wha you see on the surface “girl from the south side of Chicago makes it to the White House” but for me, just reading about the different stages in her life and how she grew and pretty much succeeded in everyone. She knew what she wanted and she believed in herself enough to go out and make it happen. I won’t go into much more detail in case you eventually read it yourself, but if you want a more in depth look at her life or just want some kick ass inspiration I recommend this book for you. See you next time, From Jaime With Love.
