Jaime's Books

Let’s Read

Just finished “Lost Girls” by Robert Kolker. This book, in one word is DARK. It’s a true story surrounding an unsolved mystery about 5 young girls who were escorts that were murdered. Their bodies were found thrown out in an secluded island where the upper class live. This book was a struggle to get through. Not only was the book dark, but in my opinion it was weighed down with way too many details. The book is about 5 different women, so that alone means there is going to be a lot of information, but each women had their own story and with each story came supporting characters. They talked about each women’s mothers/fathers, sisters/brothers, work life, pimps, friends. It was A LOT and so I often found myself confused or not remembering the background of their individual story. Once I start reading a book, I have to finish it, even if it is not one I necessarily enjoy and this was definitely the case for this one. If you don’t mind true crime books as well as over flowing details, then this is the one for you!
