The Talk Tuesday’s for the month of January will all be based on quotes from a book I am currently reading. The book is “Walking the Heart Path” by Sharon E. Reed. Today’s Talk Tuesday will be centered around the quote “Change occurs when the cost of complacency or indecision exceeds the cost of taking a risk” This one. This one hit, because it is something I personally struggle with. Some current things in my life are the way they are because I am too afraid of taking a risk. Too afraid of putting myself out there because I don’t know what the outcome is. I often say I wish I had the gumption to just say “this is the decision” and I will figure it out. It will figure itself out! As an adult I know those kind of decisions aren’t always easy. Taking the chance on something without already having a back up plan in place can be scary. I have a cousin, who I am extremely proud of, for doing just that! She was in a toxic situation and for the sake of her health, physically and mentally she had to walk away from a job without a concrete back up. She just knew she could not do it any longer. It was awe inspiring to see. She knows that that new change is just around the corner and in the meantime she is one of the most resourceful people I know. She isn’t just sitting around waiting for something to fall into her lap. She is constantly making connections and moves! Like I said, awe inspiring and I am extremely proud of her. I personally don’t think I am complacent or indecisive, but I do think I often let my fears talk me out of a lot of things that I would love to try or pursue. I am determined to work on this though. To improve. To get out of my own way. Let’s Talk! What do you think of this quote? Can you relate? Do you struggle with fear, complacency or indecisiveness? If not or if you did but don’t anymore, what are some encouraging words that you can give to the ones who are still struggling? See you next week! From Jaime With Love
